CASE 1 GROUND SCHOOL / PRACTICAL

Description:
This lesson will begin with a 40 minute ground school lead by the Instructor. Student will understand Case1 Departure/Arrival Procedures. Student will lead through a full Case 1 approach while Mentor guides Student through the process.
Task:
Instructor will lead a 40 minute class on the intro to Case 1 Recovery/Departure
Instructor will cover the following topics:
-Communication
-Approach
-Stack
-Commencing
-Initial
-OHB
-Downwind
-Groove
-Trap
-Bolter Pattern
-Spin Pattern
Student creates Flight Plan
Mentor provides TACAN for GWA
Student briefs Flight plan to Mentor.
Student will execute the Flight Plan with the Mentor in formation for observation.
While on the wing of the Student, the Instructor will make corrections as necessary.
-Instructor will ensure Student employs the use of proper communication and frequencies
-Instructor will ensure Student is consist of fuel management.
Mentor will give Student assigned altitude for the Marshall stack.
-It’s up to the discretion of the Mentor when to give a Charlie signal for commencement.
Student will then practice Bolter Pattern after making 1 successful recovery.
-The Bolter and Spin Pattern procedure will be pre briefed by the instructor prior to take-off.
6. Student Completes Lesson after landing.
Standard:
Student must attend the classroom portion. Student must navigate successfully to the GWA. Student must execute Flight Plan. Student must demonstrate the ability to navigate and fly the Case 1 procedure along with the Bolter Pattern. Student must complete all phases of the Case 1. Student must successfully land.
