Angle of Attack (AOA)
Overview & Purpose
Introduce basic concepts of lift, drag and angle of attack.
Education Standards
1. Student will practice throttle control along with level
straight flight.
2. Student will dirty up and continue practicing throttle
control and straight and level flight.
3. Student will learn basic principles and usage of AOA
flight.
4. Student will land at Senaki using a straight in approach.
Objectives

altitude assignments.
2. Student will demonstrate ability to maintain altitude while
dropping gear and/or flaps.
3. Student will lead mentor from practice area back to Senaki
airspace using all appropriate comms.
4. Student will successfully land without over stressing
airframe.
Verification
1. Mentor will monitor all speeds and altitude changes made by
the student.
2. Mentor will ensure student is able to successfully employ
and maintain AOA flight.
3. Mentor will monitor all airfield procedures and etiquette
upon entering Senaki airspace and continue until student is
parked.
Activity
Begin all practice no lower than 5000 feet AGL. Once student
demonstrates all necessary abilities, mentor may use his or her
discretion to practice skills at lower altitudes.
